Removal Request

Last updated: 31.10.2026

Found your own face in FaceSift results and want it gone? This page shows you how.

FaceSift doesn't have its own index of faces. Every result comes from a third-party search engine: FaceCheck.ID for Live searches on the main page, and Lenso.ai on the /lenso page. A photo only disappears from FaceSift once it is removed from the engine that found it, so send your request to each engine directly. Both are free.

Before you start

  • Removal hides your face from search results. It doesn't delete the photo from the internet. The original image stays on the website that posted it (a social network, a news site, a blog). To take it down there, contact that site (see below).
  • Each engine is separate. Opting out of FaceCheck.ID doesn't remove you from Lenso.ai, and the reverse is also true. For full coverage on FaceSift, do both.
  • FaceSift can't do it for you. Both engines need to confirm that the face in the photo is yours, so you have to submit the request yourself. FaceSift can't check the status of your request either. Only the engine can tell you where it stands.

FaceCheck.ID

  1. Open FaceCheck.ID and run a search with a clear photo of your own face.
  2. Click “Remove My Photos” in the top menu and select every result that shows you.
  3. Verify that it's you with a quick selfie. If you can't take one, upload an ID document with everything except your photo and name covered.

Lenso.ai

Powers the free search on the FaceSift /lenso page.

  1. Open the Lenso.ai opt-out form.
  2. Upload one clear, front-facing photo of your face. Lenso.ai uses it to find and remove all of your face images from its index.
  3. Submit the form. Lenso.ai usually doesn't ask for documents.

Speed
Reviewed every business day; usually done within 24 hours.
Tracking
There is no public status page. Contact Lenso.ai support if your photos still show up after a few days.
Limits
Requests may be rejected if the face isn't clear enough for the system to recognise. Use a sharp, well-lit photo.

Do you own the copyright to a specific image (rather than just appearing in it)? Use Lenso.ai's DMCA / DSA request to remove just that result. For full details, see Lenso.ai's privacy protection page.

Each provider sets its own rules and may change them. Always follow the steps on its official page.

Removing the original photo

Search engines only link to images that are already public. To remove the photo itself, go to where it is posted:

  • delete it, or ask the person who posted it to delete it;
  • use the site's own report or privacy form (most social networks have one for unwanted or impersonating photos);
  • if you took the photo, send the site a copyright (DMCA) takedown request.

For a full walkthrough, read our guide on how to remove yourself from the internet.

Data FaceSift holds about you

FaceSift doesn't store uploaded photos or search results on its servers. If you ran a paid Live search, FaceSift keeps a small order record: the order and search IDs, payment status, approximate country, the Google Analytics visitor ID, and basic device details (browser, OS, screen size). The full list is in the Privacy Policy.

To have this record deleted, email facesift@gmail.com with the order ID from your payment page or URL (?orderId=…). FaceSift replies within 30 days. Payment records that the law requires us to keep are kept only for that purpose.

The photo cached in your own browser is removed automatically after 24 hours. You can also remove it right away by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
