FaceSift is an AI-powered reverse face search engine. Upload any photo containing a face and FaceSift scans the web for pages where a similar face appears — across social media, news sites, blogs, and public records.

You upload a photo containing a face. FaceSift forwards it to a facial recognition API (FaceCheck.ID) that analyzes facial features and searches a large index of publicly available web images. Results are ranked by match score and show the URLs of pages where similar faces were found.

Each result displays a similarity score from 0–100:

• 90–100: Certain Match — very high confidence

• 83–89: Confident Match — reliable result

• 70–82: Uncertain Match — possible match

• 0–69: Weak Match — low confidence

Scores of 83 or higher generally indicate a reliable result when a good-quality, front-facing photo is used.

Lenso.AI is completely free and powered by Lenso.ai — a separate search engine that processes your photo directly. It is a great starting point for a quick, no-cost search. Live Search uses FaceCheck.ID's full production index and returns more thorough, accurate results with all matching URLs unmasked. Live Search costs $1 per search.

Demo searches are always free. A Live Search costs $1, paid once per search. There is no subscription or recurring fee — you pay only when you choose to run a live search.

Live Search costs $1 to unblock one full set of search results. Payment is processed securely via NOWPayments and accepts cryptocurrency including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and many others. After selecting Live Search, you are redirected to a secure hosted payment page. Once the payment is confirmed, you are automatically returned to FaceSift to view your unmasked results.

Yes. FaceSift does not log your IP address, does not maintain a search history, and does not store your uploaded photo on its servers. Your photo is forwarded to FaceCheck.ID solely to perform the search and is not retained by FaceSift afterward. Search sessions expire automatically after 24 hours.

Your photo is temporarily cached only in your own browser's local storage (up to 24 hours) so you can return to your results without re-uploading. It is never stored on FaceSift's servers. No account, no registration, no retained images on our end.

No. FaceSift finds websites that display images with visually similar faces — it does not confirm or establish identity. A high match score means faces look alike, not that the person is definitively the same individual. Always verify through multiple independent sources before drawing any conclusions.

No. Searching for images of anyone under 18 is strictly prohibited and violates our Terms of Use. The underlying AI is trained exclusively on adult faces and will not produce accurate results for images of minors.

Lenso.AI is an alternative face search engine available on FaceSift's /lenso page. Searches are processed directly by Lenso.ai — FaceSift acts only as an interface. Lenso.AI offers a free tier as well as paid plans with higher search limits and more detailed results. It is a good option to try alongside FaceSift's Live Search.

No results usually means the person's face is not present in the publicly indexed database, or the photo quality is too low. Try a clearer, front-facing photo with good lighting and a clearly visible face. You can also try Lenso.AI as a free alternative.

No. FaceSift is a web-based service accessible from any modern browser on both mobile and desktop. There is no official iOS or Android app — any app claiming to be FaceSift is unauthorized.
